Manzamnyama watches Soccer World Cup 2010

FEEL THE VIBE - IT'S HERE!

Indeed it is! Even out here in the furthest corner of the Wild Coast, everyone is crazy about soccer. And so we decided to bring the World Cup to the village. With much effort and thanks to a generous donation we set up a projector and a screen plus DSTV in the village, to show the Soccer World Cup. The deal was that the villagers will have to come work at the project site to earn tickets, and with these tickets they will gain entry to the Soccer games. And it has worked out well! Especially the kids were most keen on gaining lots of tickets, and every day about 20 children showed up asking for jobs. We had to become quite creative to invent new jobs for them, but it was a great experience and the project site has seen some serious work done. Well done everybody!

New boma fence made of sticks; girls diggig a path; the movie room with makeshift walls (but at least the roof is on!)

Young man compacting the floor; satellite dish for DSTV; about 80 people watching the opening game South Africa vs. Mexico!
