Help to build a better life in Manzamnyama Village!We need funding and donations to set up the different projects in Manzamnyama Village. Every penny helps to build a better life! We have friends and family supporting us by donating a small monthly amount, which keeps the project running and buys daily building materials such as nails, wire, tools etc. It also pays the salary of our translator and salaries of other people who help out with work. But we also need funding for specific projects, such as the water project or the sewing project. |

Sewing Project We need money to buy sewing machines and some stock of fabrics, to get the sewing project started. If have old non-electric sewing machines to give away, please let us know! |
Water Project We want to instal a few central water taps in the village, for in winter (dry season) the woman have to walk far to collect drinking water, and often the sources are contaminated. |

The Early Learning Centre We have started building the early learning centre for little children. We need funding for building materials ... |
School project We can use an existing hut as a school building but we will need money for books, stationary and other things. We will be adding a Cambridge Distance Learning Course towards 2010 and will also require sponsorship for some of the kids. |

Distribution of FinancesThe Sobonana Lodge and Lungusile Projects are 100% community owned. All income thereof goes directly back into the projects, to buy more materials. Any excess money gets distributed amongst the involved families. The distribution is administrated and overseen by the village committee. From incoming donations 15% are used on administration costs. This includes the monthly website costs, petrol for the generator (that runs the laptop), fundraising efforts, book-keeping, planning and coordination of the projects. | What happens to my money? 15% of all donations are used on administration costs. The rest of the money goes directly into the projects, mostly to buy materials. We keep book on all financial matters. Our blog keeps you updated on what has been achieved with your help. |
Can I send useful items instead of money? Yes, any kind of useful items are welcome. Please contact us to let us know what you would like to send and we can give you a postal address. |

We live in a self-built tree-house in a foresty dip about 100m below the building site of the lodge. We have dedicated our time, our knowlede and our efforts to the project. Living in the Transkei means being completely cut off from the rest of the world, and so we are both officially unemployed and therefore without salary. We need around R2000.- per month to cover our living costs - mainly food, petrol for the cars and the generator, maintainance costs for cars, website fees and other little things.
